To blog or not to blog? My first post.

It’s amazing how difficult it is to start a blog.

In an effort to rectify a failed resolution from 2013, my first resolution for this year is lo and behold, to start blogging. A few nights ago I stumbled across a box of old diaries and it hit me that I’ve been writing my whole life, in some form or other. From childhood stories about befriending dolphins to university education, putting my thoughts and opinions on paper has been an integral part of growing up for me, a way to express myself and of course, embarrass myself hideously by rereading in future years.

A collection of old diaries

No sooner had I decided to explore this platform, than in crept those initial doubting questions – What should I write about? Who will want to read what I have to say? What if I run out of interesting content ideas? Then there’s the design, and don’t even get me started on feedback… arghhh.

But I quickly realized something. My writing has always been primarily for my own benefit, and just because it will now be in a public domain won’t necessarily change that. If I enjoy it then it’s already a success… and if you do too, well that’s just the icing on the cake. And we all know how wonderful icing is.

So here goes, welcome to Littlest Allsorts – my personal space to share with you the things I love, which will be a lot of music and reading material, ideas on travel, and stories on my continuing journey into god forbid, adulthood. I hope to get some responses from you and new ideas to explore, so feel free to comment,  interact and share your similar discoveries with me.

Much Love,
